These days, a specific news story is trending about the growing relationship between WWE and TNA Wrestling. In the recent episode of NXT, fans witnessed the first step of this collaboration. Joe Hendry made his WWE debut in a number 1 contender battle royale match for the NXT Championship. Although Hendry participated alongside other superstars, he didn't last long in the match.
Here's everything you need to know about Joe Hendry's WWE NXT debut

NXT kicked off with 23 competitors already in the ring for the battle royal when TNA's Joe Hendry made a surprise entrance, declaring his intention to bring the NXT Title to TNA.
Ethan Page then entered, and the match officially began. However, Hendry's time in the ring was brief as he was swiftly eliminated by TNA star Frankie Kazarian, who had previously defeated Hendry at Against All Odds. The fans reacted with chants of "bullsh*t," and in a video released later by WWE, Hendry confronted Shawn Michaels, warning that he could appear on any show at any time.
Former AEW Tag Team Champion Kazarian made it to the final four of the battle royal before being eliminated by Je'Von Evans. Evans ultimately won the match by eliminating Shawn Spears. Je'Von Evans was the first to receive an on-screen entrance, but many competitors, including TNA's Frankie Kazarian, were already in the ring.
The second major entrance featured another TNA star, recognized immediately by his iconic wrestling theme. Joe Hendry received a thunderous reaction at the Performance Center, and with confidence, he delivered a brief promo, asserting he would win the battle royal and bring the NXT Championship to TNA Wrestling.

Before the bell, Ethan Page was attacked by Oro Mensah who wasn't in the match, leading to a brawl away from the ring. Although the bell had rung, Page was not eliminated as he went through the ropes instead of over the top.

Joe Hendry was the first actual elimination, thrown out by fellow TNA talent Kazarian. Despite Hendry's quick exit, Kazarian had an impressive performance, eliminating Damon Kemp and Myles Borne of No Quarter Catch Crew, and making it to the final four. The final four consisted of Je'Von Evans, Frankie Kazarian, Shawn Spears, and Dragon Lee.
With a powerful Irish Whip, Evans ejected Kazarian over the top rope while Spears lay in wait after going under the bottom rope. Je'Von Evans and Dragon Lee had an exciting sequence, but ultimately, Shawn Spears re-emerged to shove Dragon Lee off the top rope. The final showdown between Spears and Evans ended with Evans picking up the win, setting him up to face Trick Williams for the NXT Championship on Sunday, July 7, in Toronto, the night after Money in the Bank.
