Not sure if your Aadhaar card is real or fake? Here's how you can verify your Aadhaar

The Aadhaar card, issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), has become an indispensable identity proof for Indian citizens. This 12-digit number serves as a reliable source for address proof, date of birth verification, and more, making it essential for everyone to possess. Its growing importance also extends to various services like updating PAN details or filing GST returns.
However, the widespread use and easy access to Aadhaar have led to an increase in cases of fake Aadhaar cards, which are often used for fraudulent activities.To combat this issue, it is crucial to verify the authenticity of an Aadhaar number. The UIDAI has advised citizens to regularly check the validity of their Aadhaar to ensure it is genuine and to safeguard against identity fraud.




Every Aadhaar card, letter, and e-Aadhaar includes a Secure QR code that holds demographic details like the holder's name, gender, date of birth, address, and photograph.
The QR code's information is secure and tamper-proof because it is digitally signed by UIDAI, ensuring its integrity even if the Aadhaar card is altered with a different photograph.
The QR code can be read using the "Aadhaar QR scanner" app, available on the Play Store and App Store.
