Exclusive - Former contestant Shardul Pandit on Bigg Boss OTT 3: What are we trying to teach kids 'bhai tum do shaadi kar lo' we will make you famous and normalise it?

Shardul Pandit, who is a popular television actor, radio jockey, and singer, is currently shuttling between Mumbai and Dubai. He gained recognition for his roles in popular TV shows such as "Bandini" and "Kuldeepak." Shardul also participated in "Bigg Boss 14," where he became a household name due to his candid and straightforward nature. Besides acting, he has a strong presence in radio, having worked with several prominent radio stations.Shardul, in an exclusive interview with ETimes TV, discussed his life in Dubai, sharing insights on living away from Mumbai and his future plans. He opened up about the changes and opportunities this new chapter has brought him.
Have you been following Biggboss OTT your thoughts on the contestants this year?
No. I don’t want to sound like I am being judgemental but there has to be a cut off point for content when it becomes questionable. Okay, I have one question what we’re trying to teach kids bhai tum do shaadi kar lo we will make you famous and normalise it, bhai aap raste par jhagda kar lo because you don’t want to go through a proper channel of permits we will make you famous. Please show me contestants who have fought and survived with life not promoting a culture where everything is done to get attention.
Anil Kapoor hosting plus or a minus for you?
Big plus to his bank account and channel as I am sure Salman bhai is done with the same thing. It’s good for both and Anil Kapoor is brilliant too. Salman sir will get time to entertain us with movies as he should.
How have you been managing shuttling between two cities or rather countries?
Like many people who have moved their base internationally, you would be surprised how many people are operating out of Dubai in the media. I mean I did a music video for another podcast series right from India two weeks back so it’s possible. I think it’s much better to shuttle rather than rot.
How has life been in Dubai? Do you miss Mumbai?
Oh yes the rains, who doesn’t miss Mumbai but if you do a TV show you are parked in Naigaon, Aamgao, or Umargaon, if you are doing a web show you travel so for me to set up what am doing it’s brilliant. The best part is I am living the life and the lifestyle that’s not possible in Mumbai.
What next from your platter?
I am finally getting into podcasting after winning three awards for my podcast which I did for a platform. I am finally doing it for myself, producing it myself, creating it myself. It’s a different high.

Any OTT or TV shows in the offing for you?
Not yet. post Pretty Boys, I am yet to find something. See, now I want to act for roles and not to pay bills. Thankfully that’s taken care of with my international projects so when casting directors and producers are looking for actors I am available. I said no to a TV show recently as the same old formats won’t land me anything. Post Big Boss most of us are treated as just influencers. So even if it takes two years after Pret Boys, I am okay but I want a role that’s meaty enough.
