Exclusive - Krishna Mohini actress Anoushka Chauhan on entourage culture: This prevails because of people who are either privileged or upstarts

Actress Anoushka Chauhan, starring in Krishna Mohini, critiques the industry's entourage trend noted by Anurag Kashyap. New to the industry, she prefers working without an entourage, which fosters respect, privacy, and humility on set. This approach helps performers deliver their best and benefits the whole crew, though she notes a team might eventually be helpful.
Exclusive - Krishna Mohini actress Anoushka Chauhan on entourage culture: This prevails because of people who are either privileged or upstarts
Actress Anoushka Chauhan, who is currently portraying a negative lead in the show Krishna Mohini, shares her thoughts on the industry's entourage culture. Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap recently remarked that actors often arrive with a large entourage, including assistants, hair and makeup artists, and social media teams, sometimes numbering 7-8 people. Anoushka points out that not everyone arrives with such a large team.
"I don't know if I can afford or have an attitude like that because those who have grown from the ground up know how to cooperate in a workspace.
I think a culture like this prevails because of people who are either privileged or upstarts,” says the actress.
Regarding her own experience, Anoushka, being relatively new to the industry, does not have a large entourage. "I don’t have anyone alone; I am relatively new in the industry. At the moment, I don't think I can afford it or even consider it. However, at a certain point, a team can make your work easier and also benefit the overall crew. But I believe that an artist should be flexible with production and the circumstances of a workspace," she says.
The actress also mentions that a large entourage can disturb the atmosphere on set and might feel like an invasion of privacy for other actors. "I have worked with really big actors and celebrities who came with just 1-2 people and were very humble around the entire crew and onset. The number of people you bring doesn't matter as much as respecting the workspace, which is crucial. At the end of the day, the individual on screen is the one who is visible and should look and perform their best,” she concludes.
