Lock Upp’s first season found its winner in stand up comedian Munawar Faruqui. The second spot was taken by Payal Rohatgi, who was considered to be one of the strongest competitors in the show.
After an eventful journey, full of ups and downs, Payal Rohatgi took the position of the first runner up of the first ever season of the Kangana Ranaut hosted Lock Upp.
For things good or bad, subtle or loud, right or wrong, Payal remained to be the one contestant who was always in the limelight throughout her journey from beginning to end.She stood out as the only sole player of the Lock Upp game, who never backed out of speaking her heart out. Never mincing her words and being straightforward always became the highlight of Payal’s personality and journey.
During her time in the Lock Upp jail, Payal Rohatgi made some shocking as well as surprising revelations about her personal and professional life. She opened up about her infertility which became a hindrance in her and boyfriend Sangram Singh’s marriage. Payal came out about becoming an alcohol addict and attempting suicide as a part and parcel of the negative publicity that she got after her previous reality show stint. Besides this, Payal Rohatgi also revealed that she once also tried ‘vashikaran’ to resurrect her career.
Payal’s portrayal in the game was not only loved by fans but was also praised by Kangana Ranaut and Ekta Kapoor. She was lauded by the two ladies for standing strong despite facing multiple blows during her time in the show.
