Results Speak Louder: Fitterfly's Youthful Diabetes Success and Collab with Healthcare Stakeholders!

At Fitterfly, we commemorated both Diabetes and Children’s Day on the 14th of November by highlighting the fact that Diabetes now catches them young and there is an urgent need to raise awareness among parents and children about it. Just a few years back, Type 2 Diabetes was considered a condition of the elderly. However, our insights from 16,000 interactions with people who used the Fitterfly Diabetes Reversal Calculator showed that 60% of people with Diabetes were under 45 years of age - the most important population for India’s growth story.

While we manage Diabetes for people of all ages, we’re proudest to showcase the outcomes for our VVIPs - children with Type 2 Diabetes. It’s heartwarming to share that 7 children who finished the Diabetes program by Fitterfly - all 100% showed substantial reduction in HbA1c and medicines.  

However, we know that Fitterfly cannot solve the Diabetes problem alone. We need other healthcare stakeholders to join forces. We witnessed the pharma industry and clinicians take active steps to reduce the Diabetes burden in India.  

OPPI, an organization of MNC pharma companies, is now working with the slogan #bharatkeliye to help the India@100 mission. It was heartening to see the Organisation of Pharmaceutical Producers of India (OPPI ) waking up to the possibilities afforded by digital therapies. We were invited to talk about how pharma can work with health-tech companies, how patients can become more participative in their care, and how the outcomes and efficiency of healthcare systems can improve. 

Involving clinicians in building technology-driven lifestyle management as the first line of therapy for Diabetes and obesity has been a mission for us. So, it was great that Fitterfly was selected to have a significant presence at the annual meeting of the Research Society for Study in Diabetes in India (RSSDI), the largest think tank of doctors treating Diabetes in India. More than 5000 doctors registered for the event. Our presentations included:

1. Keynote lecture in BB Tripathi Research Symposium: How Personalised Glycemic Response (PGR) score-based programs can help people in early stages achieve Diabetes remission.

2. Poster presentation: Personalised Glycemic Response based Fitterfly Diabetes CGM program improved dietary choices, glycemic control, and weight among people with poorly controlled Diabetes.

3. Poster presentation: Real-world outcomes of Fitterfly Diabetes program on glycemic control and weight management in newly diagnosed type 2 Diabetes.

4. Dr. Mohan Shenoy showcased technology and outcomes from Fitterfly in his lecture on ‘App Based Coaching’.
