All roads in Hyderabad lead to Gandipet Lake Park last weekend. It was an evening of celebration with the progressive rock performance by AGAM, a live act in the backdrop of a stunning lake. Guests of all ages in the hundreds were seen thronging the venue to enjoy the live performance. The musical evening was part of the Gudisambaralu.
The show opened with the invocative Brahma’s Dance followed by Swati Tirunal’s Dhanasree Thillana, setting the mood for a recital.
The guitarist playing at the interlude enhanced the melody of the performance, with the tempo building up. Rangapura vihara, an all-time favourite of the rasikas, found them in sheer bliss, a perfect offering to Sri Rama. Yet another popular item, the boat song, a Malayalam piece that brought to life The Onam boat races of Kerala.
The resounding voice of singer Harish Siva Ramakrishna with the band playing enthralled the audience. It was overall, a mesmerising evening.
