Since becoming a licensed attorney in 2012, I have been actively litigating civil matters as well as performing some transactional work and prelitigation matters for my clients. This includes evaluating potential civil matters; preparing and drafting correspondence, case filings, pleadings, motions, responses, and discovery; conducting discovery, depositions, inspections, and mediations in preparation for trial; and appearing on behalf of my clients at hearings, trial, and appeals. I am excited to serve the people of Harris County, who deserve judges who rule fairly and timely. I want to be the kind of judge I would want to be in front of. I am committed to ensuring that everyone who comes into my courtroom is treated with dignity and respect. I am committed to showing up and putting in the work to help move cases along and help the parties either reach a resolution or prepare for trial.

  • Everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect and have their case heard fairly based on the law and the facts.
  • Judges, above all, are public servants, and the civil courts should work for the people.
  • The courts should be managed with transparency and efficiency without compromising diligence in applying the law.

Encouraging everyone who can to go out and vote—in every election and all the way down the ballot. Increasing access to justice for everyone, regardless of background, race, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, financial situation, the language they speak, or whether they have an attorney or represent themselves.

That I treated people before my court with kindness, dignity, and respect. That I worked hard to help the next generation of judges serve their community. That I put down more ladders behind me, not pulled them up.

There are so many judges that have devoted their time, talent, and energy to serving on the bench, but Justice Sotomayor stands out.
