I am ready to go to work for you and your family.

My experience as a State Board Member and County Commissioner earned the endorsements of Governor Gavin Newson, District 13 Senator Jerry Hill, Congressman Ro Khanna, and dozens of other elected officials, activists and business leaders.

I'm passionate about the environment and education.

After college I went to El Salvador to start a school. Later, I helped expand the University of California system adding a new campus in Merced--serving 15 years as Trustee. My work expanding math and science in our K12 schools has been nationally recognized by Michelle Obama.

Thirty years ago, I began a life of environmental advocacy. In 2007, I started "CleanTech for Obama." I've released a comprehensive plan to combat climate change which earned me the endorsements of 75 local and national environmental leaders, from Senate Green New Deal Author Ed Markey to legendary San Mateo activist Lennie Roberts, I'm proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with them, along with Sierra Club and California League of Conservation Voters, who are also supporters. Governor Brown appointed me to the State Workforce Development Board and I serve on the County's Child Care Partnerships Council.

  • A lifelong innovator
  • Proven history of bringing people together
  • Endorsed by Governor Gavin Newsom and the Sierra Club

Scorecards

See also: State legislative scorecards and State legislative scorecards in California

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
