Do Business with the City

Welcome to the Division of Small Business Opportunity (DSBO).

DSBO supports the growth, capacity, and sustainability of small, disadvantaged, minority, and women-owned businesses. DSBO’s mission is to be the bridge that promotes and improves the participation and engagement of small businesses through the creation and implementation of programs, thereby achieving an equitable Denver economy.

Helping a larger, more diverse field of businesses compete for government contracts is an important way that we help small businesses grow and increase their revenues. Qualifying factors include being minority- or woman-owned, or otherwise being a disadvantaged business. In addition to granting certifications and providing outreach and capacity-building for small firms, DSBO sets participation goals for public projects and ensures that contractors are paid promptly.

Did you know? DSBO has a new self-guided online training, "Small Biz, Big Wins: Mastering Small Business Requirements," available now! It is designed to help you be successful on small business requirements for city procurements. It takes less than an hour, including unique options for your interests and situation.
