Saxton Bampfylde is delighted to be working with VIVID, to appoint new Non-Executive Directors. About VIVID and the roles: At VIVID, we are proud to be a social landlord and large-scale developer, providing affordable homes and support services to 74,000 people across Hampshire, Surrey, and Berkshire. Despite a difficult operating environment for all organisations like ours, we are growing and improving our performance in key areas. With a turnover of approximately £357m and the highest possible ratings from the Regulator for Social Housing, we are at the forefront of our sector. We are challenging ourselves to continually improve the quality of our homes and services to our customers, whilst maintaining our financial resilience and, part-way through our 3-year business transformation programme, we have seen some great progress on these fronts. Nonetheless, the priority for every single one of our people continues to be on supporting our customers, and improving customer experience. In order to continue our work and maintain our strong position, we need brilliant people at board level who can help us anticipate and respond to the opportunities and challenges ahead. We are looking for two new people to join our board; one person with strategic-level financial leadership experience to join our board in October/November 2024, and then Chair our Audit & Risk Committee from July 2025, and; one person with strong corporate finance and debt capital markets expertise to join us as a Non-Executive Director in October/November 2024 and serve on our Treasury Committee. As an organisation, we strive to create an environment where everyone feels they belong, feels welcome and can contribute their best work. We’ve been certified by Best Companies, with an ‘outstanding’ 2-star accreditation rating in their UK 100 best large companies to work for category. Our aim is to create a collegiate, positive and inclusive culture in the board room and across our business, and new board members will be welcomed into a warm-hearted, talented, and dedicated team. These board roles are remunerated at £13,000 a year (£16,000 for Committee Chairs). If you are passionate about making a difference and have the expertise we are looking for, we invite you to apply, and help shape the future of VIVID and our vital work. We're working with SSAFA the Armed Forces charity to appoint a new Chief Executive As one of the UK’s most prominent tri-service charities, SSAFA provides vital practical, emotional, and financial support services for our Forces, veterans and their families: it is essential and life-changing work that ensures no one battles alone. In its 139th anniversary year, SSAFA has gone through a significant transformation towards becoming an even more resilient and robust organisation with sustainable finances, agile resources and an inclusive culture. This puts SSAFA in a strong position to continue to respond to the needs of its beneficiaries and make a difference for people who selflessly put their lives on the line day in, day out. SSAFA is now looking for its next Chief Executive to work with their National Chair and Board of Trustees to determine a clear strategy to meet its objectives, lead through organisational and cultural change, and deliver on our mission and vision alongside its colleagues and volunteers. This is a wonderful opportunity for an exceptional leader, with a deep empathy for the military and mission of SSAFA, to drive forward the organisation and have a tangible and transformative impact on the lives of those who have dedicated themselves to protecting and serving our country. We are looking for people who are passionate about what SSAFA do - a Chief Executive who brings strategic and commercial acumen from having held other senior leadership roles and driven growth and change in comparably large and complex organisations. Given the diverse and dispersed nature of their work and teams, we are looking for someone who naturally empowers and motivates teams to perform at their best. For more information and to apply please visit Saxton Bampfylde's website: https://lnkd.in/eeme9njY Applications should be received by noon on Monday 5th August 2024.

We hope found the event valuable and will be able to join us again next year. Our second CEO Leadership Summit will be taking place on 7 & 8 July 2025, and you can register for updates on our website: https://lnkd.in/ehtB__Gh Thank you to our speakers Leora Cruddas CBE, Sinéad Mc Brearty, Luke Sparkes, Hilary Spencer, Sir Hamid Patel CBE, Professor Becky Francis, John Murphy, Steve Rollett, Dr Sam Sims, Natalie Perera, Rebecca Boomer-Clark, Kate Alcock, Ash Jacobs and Dr Kate Chhatwal OBE for sharing your knowledge and expertise.

I was delighted to be part of an extremely important conversation hosted by Sara Weller yesterday to discuss how we can improve the representation of people with disabilities in executive and non executive roles. This is an area of work that I feel very passionate about and we have seen how programmes such as the @REACH Programme (https://lnkd.in/du9eSe-i run in conjunction with Saxton Bampfylde and the Cabinet Office to support Civil Servants with disabilities accelerate in their career) can really have an impact. However, there is much more that we can do and that we as leaders in Executive Search can take responsibility for so I'm delighted to be part of the conversation to move this forwards #disabilityinclusion #abilitynotdisability #disabledtalent Business Disability Forum

Non-Executive Chair and Director in FTSE 100 and government sector

I am delighted to be hosting a gathering of some of London’s best known Executive Search Firms tomorrow to discuss how to strengthen the Senior executive and non-executive pipeline of talented leaders with lived experience of a wide range of disabilities. 20% of our customers self report as having long term health conditions but on FTSE 100 Boards, among c1000 directors, it seems I am the only one to have declared a disability. This is damaging in many ways, but two of the biggest problems are that colleagues in those businesses are being sent a subtle message that “people with disabilities don’t get on around here” and who is understanding how to effectively serve the 20+% of customers facing these barriers everyday? If you have a view on how Boardrooms can be more disability inclusive please share it. Thanks to the search firms joining me tomorrow, and to those already actively promoting this issue Russell Reynolds Associates Spencer Stuart Egon Zehnder Saxton Bampfylde Odgers Berndtson Sapphire Partners Warren Partners Teneo Lygon Group Heidrick & Struggles Dominic Schofield Nick Green PageGroup Evenbreak TalentFirst Green Park Audeliss, Laura Sanderson Miranda Pode Kit Bingham Mark Freebairn Patricia Tehan Diane Lightfoot Kate Grussing CBE Paul Havranek Dominique Laffy Leathwaite To BT Group for hosting and to the Business Disability Forum for their support. For too many companies Disability Inclusion is another “box to be ticked”, an Obligation to be delivered on. Whereas in reality it is an Opportunity - a chance to find talent which enriches your pipeline and deepens your customer understanding. #disabilityinclusion #abilitynotdisability # I look forward to identifying individual and collective actions from our discussion

New role opportunity: Chair, Orbit Group Orbit is changing. As a socially driven and commercially minded not-for-profit organisation, we are one of the country’s largest housing providers, as well as building around 1,000 new homes a year, with highly engaged and hardworking colleagues, strong financials and a strong reputation in all areas of governance, compliance, and safety. However, despite having made significant improvements to our homes and services, as a purpose driven organisation we are not satisfied with aspects of our performance, including our tenant satisfaction scores– we know we can and must do better. We are looking for a new Chair to play a vital role in driving this ambitious change agenda at the highest levels. Along with board and executive colleagues the Chair will help shape and deliver planned changes to our governance structure, position Orbit confidently in the fast-evolving external landscape, and personally amplify our determined focus on our customers. For more information and to apply, please visit https://lnkd.in/eYWAh88Q Closing date: noon on Wednesday 17 July 2024.
