Levelling up in real life sport: Debunking the gaming myth 🎮 ⚽ 🎾 We recently gave our take on the relationship between sports gaming and physical sport, and the valuable opportunity it represents for brands, to our friends at The Drum. Upon hearing about three notable design agencies which have, or are in the process of setting up LA-based studios, I started to look at why. Although none of these agencies are leaving their London HQ’s, they have in some cases experienced complex economic challenges there and yet the draw of LA is tempered with the need to understand its sector markets, cultural nuances and staff expectations. As I got further into this story it became clear that there are very real opportunities in the city and those UK agencies which are making a success of it are doing so off the back of forging key client relationships. Any UK design agencies which might be considering making the leap to LA should take a look at this first to see if it’s for them.
