Two people are in custody following a shooting Saturday morning in the city of Bad Axe.

BAD AXE, Mich. (WJRT) - Two people are in custody following a shooting Saturday morning in the city of Bad Axe.

At about 1:45 a.m., Bad Axe police responded to the 300 block of South Silver Street in the City of Bad Axe for a report of a shooting. 

According to police, a white sedan stopped in front of the residence. The suspect fired 11 rounds from a semiautomatic pistol at the home before fleeing the scene. Many of the rounds struck the house, with some penetrating inside the home. The home was occupied, but no injuries were reported.

Police add that the incident appears to be a targeted event, and there is no known threat to the public.

At about 4:45 p.m. on Saturday, Bad Axe Police, the St. Clair County Sheriff's SWAT Team and the Huron County Sheriff's Office executed multiple search warrants and found a semiautomatic pistol, believed to be used in the shooting. Other evidence was collected as well. 

Bad Axe police say that a 27-year-old male and a 41-year-old female, both Bad Axe residents, were taken into custody and are in the Huron County Jail. Their names are currently being withheld.

The investigation remains ongoing.
