2013 Feed-in Tariff Inquiry and Determination

Determination

On 6 December 2013, following the commencement of the relevant legislation and regulations, the Regulator made its Regulated Feed in Tariff Determination for Standard Feed in Tariff Customers. The Determination reflects the recommendations made in the Regulator's inquiry report.

Final Report

The Regulator completed its regulated feed-in tariff inquiry and provided its Final Report to the Government on 31 October 2013.

Terms of Reference and Draft Report

On 15 August 2013 the Minister for Finance sent a Request and Terms of Reference requiring the Regulator to prepare a report investigating and recommending to the Government a 'fair and reasonable' value for net exported electricity that is fed into the Tasmanian electricity network by residential and small businesses customers (Feed-in Tariff). The Regulator received the request on 20 August 2013.

The Regulator released its Draft Report and media release in relation to this inquiry on 11 September 2013.

The Draft Report took into account a submission received from Save Our Solar prior to receiving the terms of reference, information obtained from Aurora Distribution and Transend Networks, decisions made by regulators in other jurisdictions and the specific circumstances prevailing in Tasmania.

Submissions were due on 2 October 2013.
