BBC Breakfast fans left in tears over Rob Burrow's final poignant message

BBC Breakfast viewers have been left in tears after watching Rob Burrow's final poignant message before his death on Sunday, aged 41. The Rugby League legend died after a battle with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) which he was diagnosed with in 2019 and campaigned extensively for in order to raise awareness.
The sports icon left a final message in a pre-recorded segment before his death for a special BBC documentary called There's Only One Rob Burrow.
He expressed: " I hope one day we find a cure and live in a world free of MND. By the time you watch this, I will no longer be here.
"I am just a lad from Yorkshire who got to live out his dream of playing Rugby League. As a father of three young children, I would never want any family to have to go through what my family have since my diagnosis."
"I hope I have left a mark on the disease. I hope it shows to live in the moment. I hope you find inspiration from the whole story."

Rob concluded: "My final message to you is whatever your personal battle be brave and face it. Every single day is precious. Don’t waste a moment.
"In a world full of adversity we must still dare to dream. Rob Burrow, over and out."
After a segment of the documentary was shown on Tuesday's instalment of BBC Breakfast, fans were left in tears as they flocked to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their thoughts.
One viewer expressed: "What an incredible man and powerful message his life and words sent. My condolences to his family may God be with you, and may he rest in peace knowing just that."

Another fan said: "Heartbreaking. I laughed and cried at this beautiful tribute. His sense of humour and humility shone through. My thoughts are with his family who have let us into their lives to make us aware of this dreadful disease."
