Today, the The Cook Political Report with Amy Walter released our latest round of polling for the Swing State Project, showing Harris has closed the gap with Trump. Proud to conduct this research along with Patrick Toomey, Sam Fitz, Robert Jones, and Greg Strimple.
Our latest research in collaboration with GS Strategy Group for The Cook Political Report with Amy Walter shows the race between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump is tightening in the battleground states. Key findings include: ◾ Harris Gains Ground: Vice President Kamala Harris is leading or tied with Donald Trump in six out of the seven pivotal battleground states. ◾ Narrow Lead Overall: Harris holds a narrow lead of 48% to 47% over Trump in these seven swing states collectively. ◾ Economic Concerns Persist: Despite voter pessimism about inflation, Trump’s lead over Harris on handling the economy is narrower than expected. ◾ Undecided Voters Crucial: A small but influential group of undecided and third-party voters could play a decisive role in the election outcome. Receiving the YP Honors Award from the National Urban League Young Professionals at #NULCONF24 in New Orleans was an incredible honor. But more than that, it was a powerful reminder of the incredible work we are doing *together* to uplift our communities. Being surrounded by so many passionate and dedicated YPs from across the country left me deeply inspired. To witness firsthand the impact we are making, each in our own way, is a testament to the strength of this movement. As I said in my acceptance speech, "I've been blessed to merge my passion with my purpose, and YP gave me that and set me on a path I didn't see coming… and I'll be forever grateful." This award isn't just for me—it's for every YP who shows up, speaks out, and fights for a more just and equitable future. The bonds we've forged within this organization are real and lasting.
