“We needed a better way to think about how we let these new ideas come in and build that base. But where is the new money coming from? We don't want to just ask for more money every year. And so, we're doing something specific for the last 15 months… we're asking some of the vendors to get smarter on the way that we operate, not experts, but smarter so that they can quantify the impact to our mission outcomes… What we've done is we've said, here are our baselines, how can you improve us? And is there anything that we can change or turn off so that we can get this moving faster? Because we want this game changer now. And so, with that resulted in our world class alignment metrics, and this is one of the quantitative ways that we're meeting with companies, giving them a read ahead and saying, ‘We understand the tech we read in your brief, let's make this time about how you can make all of the activities within the Navy more effective and shrink friction, how do you change our game?’ So, we're looking from a ‘military Moneyball perspective’ to buy wins, not products. And this has made our team and external teams more conversant in a language of impact and mission outcomes, as opposed to ‘this is where my router goes’.” Encouraging take from a PEO perspective. PEO Digital’s Neptune Cloud Management Office (CMO) is celebrating our 1-year anniversary! Established in June 2023, the Neptune CMO is the single point of entry for the acquisition and delivery of all cloud services across the DON. The first year was one of many accomplishments including: · Completely redesigned portal to enhance customer experience and satisfaction · Cloud concierge process automation to expedite our services, decrease DON support costs, and reduce the overall cloud transition turn-around time · Onboarding support for mission owners impacting over 60 DON applications increasing the adaptability, mobility and operational resilience of critical DON IT capabilities · ATO certification for various Azure and AWS environments to support customer missions across both the Navy and Marine Corps reducing costs associated with individual ATO certifications and reducing the solution delivery time And we’re just getting started!
