Big shout-out to our customer, CLP, and Cinterra for building the first Erthos project in South Carolina, and for kicking off our next wave of over 13 projects entering construction throughout the US. With no steel mounting structures, this 1.78 MWdc project has an inside-the-fence footprint of just 2.5 acres. If built with single-axis trackers, the land requirement would have been over 6 acres and would have required over 100,000 pounds of steel! Learn more at http://www.erthos.com. And if you're going to be at RE+ Events in a couple weeks, be sure to come say hi at booth A63077.

Convective storm risk is a problem we need to meet head on. Inspiring to see our industry rally around the hail problem with new testing protocols, advanced equipment, actuarial studies aimed at new technologies, and novel insurance structures like parametric policies. We're excited to collaborate with RETC (Renewable Energy Test Center), VDE Americas, Cirrus Advisers, and our ErthCompatible PV module partners in our quest to meet this challenge. https://lnkd.in/gPwAeDzZ #solar #hail
Excellent article by RETC (Renewable Energy Test Center) summarizing the appropriately engineered solution for hail resiliency in the hail prone regions of our country. https://lnkd.in/gPwAeDzZ Backed up by Sara Kane and her team at Cirrus Advisers and the engineering specialists at VDE Americas. Thicker front side - fully tempered glass is the clear solution for hail resiliency. In conjunction with qualified insurance backed system warranties that have been validated by proven testing methodologies, the gold standard for Texas Strong Utility Scale Solar PV is ready! The Erthos team along side our US based module partners are ready to meet the challenge. Twice the energy density per acre, built in half the time, for 20% less! #TexasStrong #RETC #VDE #Cirrus #Erthos #UtilityScaleSolar

The catastrophic damage sustained by this 440 MW solar plant in Fort Bend County, Texas is truly unfortunate and underscores a major problem facing the solar industry. Our current solutions are not reliable. We need a solution and Erthos answers this call! The hail balls that rained down on that plant are reported by NOAA to have been in the 1" to 2.75" size range. ErthCompatible hail-resilient PV modules have been third-party tested and verified to withstand forces even greater than those produced by hail balls of that size. We achieve this by simply using thicker, stronger, front glass. For a tracker plant, that adds too much weight and resulting steel cost to be a viable solution. With Erthos, because we install modules directly on the earth, this solution is completely viable with minimal added solar module cost and zero added balance of plant cost. Further, ours is a static solution and does not rely on complex mechanical systems, software, weather data systems, or human intervention to work. if you‘re developing projects in hail country, contact us at [email protected] to inquire about our hail solutions. If you are a PV module manufacturer and want to be part of the ErthCompatible PV module hail solution, contact us at [email protected] today. Together, we can make this better. http://www.erthos.com #solar #hail
