One of the highlights of my year has been chaperoning a group of passionate participants from the Good Shepherd Services Coffee Talk Civic Engagement Group on a trip to Philadelphia. This wasn’t just any trip it was the culmination of months of curriculum focused on civic engagement, current events, and amplifying youth voice and choice. Philly offered us an amazing time and another epic opportunity to ‘touch history.’ From walking the same streets as our nation’s founders, to grabbing cheesesteaks at Max’s, to engaging in deep discussions about the importance of civic responsibility, this experience left a lasting impact on all of us. Supporting youth as they discover their power to influence change is at the heart of what we do. This trip was a testament to the potential we unlock when we invest in the next generation of leaders. Let’s continue to champion programs like Coffee Talk that give young people the tools and experiences they need to make their voices heard. #CivicEngagement #YouthLeadership #EconomicMobility
