Which? responds to CMA investigation finding Vodafone / Three merger could leave customers worse off

Rocio Concha, Which? Director of Policy and Advocacy, said:

"It's absolutely right that the Competition and Markets Authority has referred the Vodafone and Three merger for a full Phase 2 investigation as this deal could have a significant impact on the telecoms market.

"The two companies are currently close competitors so the merger is likely to reduce competitive pressure in the market and could lead to higher prices and lower quality for consumers - at least in the short term.

"The CMA investigation needs to thoroughly assess the implications of this merger to determine whether it will be harmful to consumers."
