Which? responds to the CMA's calls for grocery stores to make accurate pricing a priority

Sue Davies, Which? Head of Food Policy, said:

"It's concerning that the CMA's investigation has uncovered pricing errors which have led to many shoppers being overcharged at the till.

"It's positive that the CMA and Trading Standards have published compliance materials to make the rules clearer for retailers. It is important to ensure these rules are properly enforced and that any stores that break them are held to account.

"With a General Election looming, the next government should commit to undertaking a fundamental review of Trading Standards Services to ensure an enforcement system that delivers for both consumers and responsible businesses, with the right level of resources and skills at central, regional and local levels, and regulatory powers that are fit for the modern age."
