no. they were opened originally by the same owner, but they were both sold off to different operators and have no connection other than the name.

I really enjoyed my lunch at Papito. Came with my mom on a quiet Monday afternoon and were seated right away. We ordered mimosas (hibiscus and strawberry), as well as the ceviche papito and carnitas enchiladas, which they split into two dishes so my mom and I could share. The ceviche was very fresh. The enchiladas were delicious and a perfect portion. We sat inside but they also still have outside seating in their parklet which would be nice on a sunny day.

An amazing experience! Staff was absolutely incredible. Accompanied a larger party with lots of preferences. The Spicy Hibiscus Margarita was top notch! Highly recommend. Great tequila shots, too!

Came here for brunch on a Sunday. Nice sunny day and plenty of outdoor and indoor seating available. They were kind enough to seat me at a table while I waited on a friend. Their brunch menu includes chilaquiles, omelettes, eggs benedicts, huevos rancheros, and a breakfast burrito. They also have mimosas by the glass if you're in the mood for a boozy brunch.
We had the fried chicken benedict and the chilaquiles duck. The fried chicken was a bit dry and overcooked. The chilaquiles duck - on the other hand - was delicious! For those who don't know, chilaquiles are a traditional Mexican breakfast dish of fried corn tortilla pieces simmered with salsa or mole and typically topped with cheese and other accompaniments. Highly recommended!
Service was friendly and accommodating. As mentioned before, the staff were able to seat me ahead of time while I was waiting on a friend and gave us plenty of time to decide on what to order. She even put some extra spicy sauce on the side for the chilaquiles in case we wanted to spice them up even more.
Overall, a lovely brunch experience at Papito Hayes and would highly recommend for Mexican brunch in the city.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 8Oh no 0 - Marie B.Woodland Hills, Woodland Hills, CA05Jul 15, 2024
I hesitate between 2 and 3 stars for this as a brunch spot; the Mexican specialties may be more enjoyable. I tried their version of Eggs Benedict featuring slices of super dried out battered fried chicken. Already bordering on the difficult to imagine, this Benedict adulteration was only masticatable due to being soaked in guacamole and an unfashionably spicy version of a hollandaise (and it could have used more). My friend ordered the Ahi ceviche for $18--a small, super spicy portion we initially thought was salsa, plunked down beside a bowl of chips that turned rubbery as they cooled. The fruit salad was fresh, a supermarket selection of bananas, cantaloupe, and grapes made better by the addition of an orange slice and a generous sprig of mint, plus a single minced strawberry. The cappuccino was tiny and mostly foam, but OK.
Would have given more stars for the pink-haired waitress, who was kind and let us occupy a teetering four-top on the pavement outside, as opposed to her dour colleague's resting face and huffy lack of response when we honestly responded to her question of how was our meal? Perfect spot for those who enjoy overhearing dishy discussions of golden showers from neighboring tables of pink-clad ball players.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Marc D.San Francisco, CA194269Apr 5, 2023
Craving Mexican food with a group of friends or family by Hayes Valley? Come to Papito!
My friends and I came on a Tuesday night and it was a little busy. That just comes to show how good this restaurant is, so make that reservation before coming!
I had their Super Burrito, my friends had a Taco Salad, and we all shared their Papito Nachos. Let me tell you, their burrito was probably one of the best ones I've ever had in SF. Their chicken was tender, the guacamole was fresh, the salsa was juicy, and everything inside was delicious. Their super burrito was also pretty big (though I did not take a pic of it)! The Papito Nachos were also delicious and worth ordering as a side. What cannot go wrong with ordering appetizers, especially nachos to share. My friends have visited this place many times and the Taco Salad is their go-to, which I have to try next time!
Overall, great food! Great quality! Beautiful decor and music. Wonderful service. I would come back here with friends and try something new 11/10 :)Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Abhi J.San Francisco, CA03Apr 28, 2024
The best Mexican restaurant in Hayes Valley! I always get their grilled chicken entree with vegetables! Their chips are fresh and crispy.
The staff is very kind. Raul is the best! He always takes care of us when we're here. We like to take our time with our food while we just people watch. It's the prefect elevated casual ambiance to just chill with some great food!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kasia M.San Francisco, CA071Apr 28, 2024
We love coming here every week. The food is tasty and clean, and this is a prime location for people watching the fashionable families of Hayes.
Lots of vegetarian options, and you can order grilled chicken for people on keto.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aidan A.San Francisco, CA01Jul 13, 2024
