American stand-up comedian Trevor Noah recently hit the headlines after his show at Bengaluru got cancelled due to a technical glitch.

The Emmy-Award winner became viral again after a video of him complaining about the poor infrastructure in Bengaluru surfaced on X (formerly Twitter).

While regaling the audience in Mumbai, the comedian opened up about the sordid condition of Manpho Convention Centre - the Bengaluru venue where he was to perform.

In his tongue-in-cheek humour, the ‘Daily Show’ host described how the backdoor was full of caged dogs and the event room looked uninhabitable, and “unfit for human beings.”

“Now, usually when I go to do a show backstage what happens is there will be like an entrance that you walk into and then you're in the venue and then you emerge into a backstage area before you come and perform. Here (in the Bengaluru venue), we walked through an alley that was full of dogs -- half of which were in cages... I've never prepared for a show where the backstage area is dogs in cages,” he told the audience.

Noah also had some choice words for the venue. He said that the venue more or less resembled a “semi-permanent tent, with no screens and giant air-conditioners.” Due to the noise from the ACs, the audience could not hear the comedian.

Noah’s video was shared by Mumbai-based photographer Aayushi Sachdeva on X. Sharing the clip, she wrote, “What a show! What a show @trevornoah Best part was getting all the first-hand gosss about the #bengaluru show and what a shit show it was on a whole new level. I’m sorry nobody told you how bad that venue was and how rainy it gets during this time!”

One X user requested the comedian to take potshots at the show organiser BookMyShow. “@Trevornoah : please roast the organizers @bookmyshow for the experience! Bangalore has a multitude of great venues, but @bookmyshow chose the worst one with absolutely no regards to the audience!”

Reacting to the video, Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, the Executive Chairperson of Biocon Limited quipped that Bengaluru’s subpar infrastructure seemed to have provided fodder for Noah’s content.

“Bangalore’s shambolic state has provided enough content for Trevor Noah’s future shows. If this does not wake up the administration then we have nothing left to hope for…” reads her comment.
