It’s day 2 of the Cannes Film Festival!

The second day began with the screening of the Japanese horror -family drama ‘Monster’. Directed by Hirokazu Kore-Eda, the film enjoyed a star-studded premiere attended by A-listers from showbiz such as K-pop idol Rose, Viola Davis, Gemma Chan, etc.

Aside from ‘Monster’, Spanish filmmaker Pedro Almodovar’s short homoerotic film ‘Strange Way Of Life’ was also premiered. Here are some of the highlights from day 2:

It’s A ‘Rosy’ Day At Cannes
Rose, the main vocalist of the K-pop girl group Blackpink, made her debut at Cannes on May 17 (Wednesday). The superstar was there to attend the screening of the Japanese horror film ‘Kaibutsu’ (Monster). The singer opted for an elegant halter-neck black dress (from fashion giant Yves Saint Laurent). She paired it up with blue sapphire studded earrings and a ring. Aside from the premiere of ‘Monster’, she was also present at the screening of Pedro Almodovar’s queer Western ‘Strange Way of Life’ starring Ethan Hawke and Pedro Pascal.

Sara Ali Khan Turns Heads In Her Saree Gown

The ‘Atrangi Re’ actress looked spectacular in a delicate, white saree gown. Like her debut outfit, this one was also designed by Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla. It had geometric patterns. Khan paired the saree with a black and white bikini blouse and a matching beaded necklace.

    Viola Davis Stuns In White

‘The Help’ star looked breathtaking in a white Valentino gown. She was one of the guests invited to attend the screening of ‘Monster’.

Johnny Depp Breaks Silence On Hollywood Boycott
The star, who received a grand welcome, as well as a standing ovation for his movie ‘Jeanne Du Barry’ opened up about being sidelined by Hollywood at a press conference. He stated that all that’s being circulated about him is “fantastically, horrifically written fiction.” The Cannes Film Festival also marked Depp’s first public appearance in four years. The star was embroiled in a bitter legal battle with his ex-wife, Amber Heard, and was subsequently dropped from many projects.

Mrunal Thakur Gears Up For Her Big Day

The ‘Sita Ramam’ star is all set to make an ultra-glamorous debut at the Cannes Film Festival. Ahead of her debut, she shared some sizzling photos of herself in a black lace pantsuit and a sequinned jacket. She completed the look with black nails, smoky eyes, and nude lips. The actress shared some pictures on Instagram, along with the caption, “I didn’t come this far to only come this far. #YesICannes Ready to take on the @festivaldecannes experience. Join me on this glamorous little journey #StayTuned." Her jackets and pants were designed by Dhruv Kapoor.

    Jennie To Attend Cannes
After Rose, fellow Blackpink member Jennie will also make her Cannes debut. According to a statement issued by the group's label YG, Jennie will be attending the event on May 22. Her film 'The Idol' will be screened in the Out Of Competition category at the festival. Also starring Lily Rose Depp and singer-songwriter The Weeknd, this HBO film marks Jennie's acting debut.
