Bollywood buffs will be able to sing along, cheer for, and fall in love once more with Raj and Simran on the big screen!

‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ the longest-running Bollywood film in Indian cinema history, and the epitome of celluloid romance, will reportedly have a pan-Indian release today (February 10). The Aditya Chopra directorial will be released in all major multiplex chains for seven days.

The SRK-Kajol starrer will be showcased in theatres in major cities like Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Gurgaon, Lucknow, Chennai, Hyderabad, etc. Fans across 36 major cities, across the country, can rewatch their favourite love story on the big screen.
Yash Raj Films (YRF) shared the news on their social media handles on February 9. “Come fall in love with DDLJ all over again, in cinemas tomorrow onwards for one week,” reads the post.

In an interview with the Indian Express, Rohan Malhotra, Vice President, Distribution, explained that over the years they have been bombarded with requests from fans to re-release the classic in theatres so that they can relish watching the romance unfold on big screens once more. “This year, on the occasion of Valentine’s Day, we are making their wish come true. DDLJ will be screened across India, starting Feb 10, for a period of one week only,” he told the English language daily.

For SRK fans, this will be a double-treat as they can now relish both ‘DDLJ’ and ‘Pathaan’, and get to watch King Khan set the screen on fire with two avatars - a romantic hero and an action star. “We are thrilled to give the audience an opportunity to watch DDLJ and Pathaan, which are going to run simultaneously on the big screen, during this period,” Malhotra told the Indian Express.

For the uninitiated, the movie still runs at Mumbai’s Maratha Mandir at 11:40 am every day.

Released in 1995, the movie is considered one of the greatest Bollywood movies of all time. Upon its release, the film quickly catapulted its lead pair to superstardom overnight.
