Some rituals that helped Mohanty stay sane [while working from home] include 20 minutes of meditation, reading books, dancing with his daughters, and spending time with family.
The lockdown has been healthy, but Sanjeev Mohanty, managing director for South Asia, Middle East & North Africa, Levi’s, is looking forward to things opening up.

    Fitness first
“During the lockdown, I took on a fitness challenge to lose 15+ kgs and achieved my target on several counts. I am the fittest version of myself since 1998. I quit smoking and got into biohacking, inspired by Ben Greenfield’s book 'Boundless'. I also cracked the code on intermittent fasting. By June, I had dropped two sizes, from XXL to L, and had to change my wardrobe. I believe these are a reflection of my mental toughness over the years.”

    Dance therapy
“I have always been an energetic and enthusiastic personality and I’m normally in a high state of vibration. Some rituals that helped me stay sane [while working from home] include 20 minutes of meditation, reading books like Carol Dweck’s 'Mindset', dancing with my daughters, spending time with family and helping them with various household chores like cooking, etc. I also have a high-energy playlist to start my day, a workout playlist, and a relaxation and meditation playlist.”

    Tech talk
“I have always been a tech aficionado. So, I was prepared for the WFH switch with my Macbook Pro, Airpods Pro, iPad, iPhone, etc. I didn’t have to buy anything except a large LED ring light and a very comfortable chair where I take my calls. Lighting and seating with the right posture are key.”

    The great outdoors
“I have resumed short bike rides on weekends and on some weekday evenings. My next holiday will be an 8-10-day road trip, where I will ride my bike through Uttarakhand and visit Kainchi Dham in the Himalayas.

“As a family, we are looking forward to a trip to Boston in January, when we will drop off my daughter to college and then spend some time travelling around the US.”

    Grooming basics
“My wife gave me fantastic haircuts the first couple of times. Since June, however, I have been visiting my regular salon.

“[Post-lockdown] I’m looking forward to a ‘zero-gravity flotation therapy’, where you float in saltwater in a sensory deprivation tank, ending with a massage. The effects this can have on consciousness and physiology in terms of reduction of pain and recovery are incredible.”

    My bucket list
“ My favourite shopping destination is a sneaker auction site called Goat. I’m hoping to buy a Nike X Off-White pair that I’ve had my eyes on. Two things I wish I had purchased before the lockdown are a helmet by Arai and an all-weather touring boot for motorcycling. I hope to travel to Dubai or Tokyo soon and pick these up.”

    A tasty treat
“I want to dine at Bukhara in New Delhi. I love their Mughlai/Indian cuisine. It’s rich food, but it lights up your taste buds. Having not eaten at a restaurant for seven months, one Bukhara meal is well-deserved.”
