Tired of finding hairs on your pillow every day? Sick of seeing the balding patch expand day by day?

Bad hair days are becoming rather prevalent. Regardless of the reason causing you to rapidly lose your hair, here’s a no-nonsense guide to nip the problem in the bud.

    Identify The Problem

The main culprit behind your hair fall can be the bathing water. Water having too much calcium and magnesium can cause massive hair fall. When your hair is exposed to these chemicals, this leads to a loss of keratin, a protein that drives hair growth, leading to hair loss. In this case, you can shower with a cap on, and on those days you are not shampooing your hair. You can also install a filter to extract the harmful chemicals from the water.

Hair fall can also be caused by a poor diet. If you are overindulging in fried, salted, or processed foods, these can lead to skin and hair problems. Cut down on processed stuff and switch to green leafy vegetables.

Chemical shampoos can also weaken your hair. Opt for herbal shampoos with low levels of sodium laureth sulphate.

How To Tackle Monsoon Hair Loss

During the rainy season, due to the increased humidity and exposure to acidic water, you may experience increased hair loss. The humidity in the air can block your hair follicles and cause an excess of sebum production. Here’s how you can combat hair fall:

    • Keep your scalp clean. Hair loss can occur due to the accumulation of dirt, oil, as well as bacterial infection.
    • Protect your tresses from rainwater. Don’t step out without an umbrella!
    • Keep hair, frizz-free. You can keep frizzes and gnarls at bay through hair softeners such as coconut hair oil, argan oil, etc.
    • Avoid using fine-toothed combs as they can cause more hair breakage. Don’t comb your hair when wet.
