Actress Tanushree Dutta, who was at the forefront of the #MeToo movement in Bollywood last year, has now hit out at Ajay Devgn for working with rape-accused actor, Alok Nath.

Devgn is collaborating with Nath for his upcoming film 'De De Pyaar De' that also stars Tabu and Rakul Preet, and has been written and co-produced by Luv Ranjan. The movie's trailer, featuring scenes with Nath, received flak on social media.

Commenting on Nath continuing to work in the industry despite the ongoing case against him, Dutta said that the film's makers should've re-shot the part of the film featuring Nath.

"Before the posters and trailer, nobody knew that Alok Nath was in the film so if Ajay Devgn and the makers wanted they could have just quietly replaced him and re-shot his portions," the actress was quoted as saying in a statement released by her publicist.

She also slammed Devgn's response defending Nath's presence in the film. In response to questions on Nath during the trailer launch, Devgn had said that it wasn't the right place to talk about it, adding that the film was shot before the allegations surfaced.

The 35-year-old went on add that Bollywood is 'full of liars, show-offs and spineless hypocrites'.

At the time of the #MeToo movement gaining momentum in October last year, Devgn, who also owns the production company Ajay Devgn FFilms, had tweeted, "I'm disturbed by all the happenings with regards to #MeToo. My company and I believe in providing women with utmost respect and safety. If anyone has wronged even a single woman, neither ADF nor I will stand for it."

However, the trailer of his film starring Nath seems to have irked many. Commenting on this 'turn of events', Dutta accused Devgn of supporting Nath to make a comeback. "This proves yet again that the big Bollywood heroes are truly zeroes. Over-rated actors and human beings who have created a clout by clever PR machinery and careful manipulation of public sentiments, old stuffy morons who can't tell the difference between what's right and wrong and what the need of the hour is.

The 'Aashiq Banaya Aapne' actress said that the film-makers' decision to retain Nath in the film meant that they were 'showing arrogance and defiance against all things morally and conscientiously right, and standing in solidarity with all rapists, molesters and harassers in Bollywood."

Saying that 'birds of a feather always flock together', she went on to add, "If you dig deep you will find skeletons in their closets so horrendous that it will totally makes sense as to why they support people who have been accused of rape and harassment.

The actress, who has been living in the United States for a decade now, also criticised the Indian judicial system. "The law and order in India has always been skewed against the victims of sexual crimes and that's why the criminals have always been out on bail. The burden of proof is always on the woman, and hence justice in court is a far-fetched dream," she said.
