Weekend numbers will determine the film's box-office fate.
Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani starrer 'Jugjugg Jeeyo' has a lot going for itself - a big star cast, a fun family-entertaining plot, beautiful sets and catchy songs, but whether it would be able to overcome the pandemic slump that has taken down big budget films like Akshay Kumar starrer 'Samrat Prithviraj' in recent weeks is yet to be seen. The film opened in theatres on Friday, and has so far had a successful run with audiences packing theatres.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh said that the film minted Rs 9.28 crore on the first day, but good numbers are needed in day two and three to make this film a hit. Adarsh, however, added that the film opened on expected lines.
Talking about Dhawan's film, Adarsh further said, "He (Varun Dhawan) has carved a niche for himself in mass-friendly films and characters... #VarunDhawan steps into a new space with #JugJuggJeeyo: urban family drama... The mature performance has not only connected with his fans, but also by industry folks.
Adarsh called the film a winsome entertainer which is well-made by Raj Mehta. According to the analyst the film has seaamlessly balanced drama, humour, and emotions.

With 'JugJugg Jeeyo' Neetu Kapoor returns to the big screen after seven years. The film also stars Anil Kapoor, Maniesh Paul and debutante YouTuber Prajakta Koli. The film is about Dhawan and Advani's characters falling out of love, and finding their way to one another, as Dhawan's dad in the film Anil Kapoor look for romance outside marriage, threatening to destabalise the family and leave Neetu Kapoor's character, who is his wife in the film.
