    • After appearing in comparatively smaller roles in several movies, Akshay Kumar began his Hindi film career as a lead actor with the 1991 movie Saugandh
    • Kumar’s fame as an actor grew significantly after he starred in the 1992 thriller Khiladi
    • His martial arts background and athletic nature helped him earn several roles as a policeman. Kumar played the role of a cop in the 1994 movie Main Khiladi Tu Anari -- in which he starred alongside Saif Ali Khan -- and then again in Mohra in the same year
    • Adding to his versatility, Kumar played romantic characters in the 1994 movie Yeh Dillagi, and, Dhadkan which released in 2000
