Finding the perfect life partner is a big deal. Sometimes, things like cricket can also get in the way. Take Rahul, a 28-year-old techie from Bengaluru. When he messaged Priyanka on Shaadi.com, boasting his salary of Rs 70 lakhs per year and expressing his belief they'd make a great match, he got an unexpected response from the other side.

Instead of Priyanka, he got a reply from her dad, who had other plans.

"Hello, I'm Rahul, a software engineer from Bangalore. Saw your daughter's profile on Shaadi.com. Currently at 70 LPA CTC and I believe we'd be very compatible," Rahul messaged.

"Hello, thanks! I’m Priyanka’s dad. Let's talk after the match," the dad messaged back, referring to the India vs England semi-final in the T20 World Cup 2024.

Rahul's cousin Naina shared the chat screenshot on social media, and it quickly went viral with over half a million views.

"Uncle had his priorities set. We’ll talk after India beats England," joked one commenter, highlighting the dad's focus on the cricket match.

"Uncle knows what’s important," added another, while a third said, "Weddings can wait, but cricket can't."

India finally broke an 11-year drought in ICC championships by beating South Africa in a gripping final, winning their second T20 World Cup title with a seven-run victory on Saturday.

Virat Kohli played a crucial role with a brilliant 76 off 59 balls, guiding India to a total of 176/7. In response, India's bowlers held firm, limiting South Africa to 169/8, securing the trophy they had previously claimed in 2007.
