Ken Bruce quits BBC Radio 2. See what is he going to do nextAgencies
Ken Bruce has decided to step down from BBC Radio 2. The treasured host’s 45-year incredible journey is coming to an end.

The news was shared by the host to his listeners on Tuesday morning. He also said that his last show would go on air in March.

On his departure, Bruce said that nothing stays the same forever and I have decided that the time is right for me to move on from Radio 2 when I reach the end of my current contract in March 2023. It’s been a happy time for me as I have made many friends and worked with numerous wonderful colleagues.

However, I feel that after spending 45 years in full-time broadcasting on BBC Radio, it is time for a change. I would stress that this is my decision entirely but some new opportunities have also come up and I would like to continue my career in a different way in the upcoming years, the details of which will become public shortly.

I will always be proud of my association with the BBC and Radio 2 in particular. I would like to thank everyone who has helped to make the mid-morning show a success, he added.

In April, Bruce will join Greatest Hits Radio. The much-loved presenter will have a brand new mid-morning show, which will run from 10 am to 1 pm. It will start from April 3.

Bruce, while talking about his new job, said that there cannot be a better way to celebrate my 45 years in radio than with a new adventure. It will be a brand-new show on Greatest Hits Radio. I am saying brand-new but there will still be PopMaster, me and my musings. And there will be all the great records you know and love from the 70s, 80s and 90s.
