    The Sandman Season 2 is expanding its cast with new actors and introducing characters from the 'Season of Mists' and 'Brief Lives' storylines. Ruairi O’Connor will play Orpheus, Dream's son.


    New Cast Members and Characters

    'The Sandman' is adding new actors for Season 2. Ruairi O’Connor will play Orpheus, the son of Dream. Orpheus is a poet, musician, and oracle. His mother is Calliope, a muse seen in Episode 111. Orpheus’s character faces tragedy, revealing the true nature of love.

    Characters from 'Season of Mists'

    Season 2 will also feature characters from the 'Season of Mists' storyline. Freddie Fox will play Loki, Clive Russell will play Odin, Laurence O’Fuarain will play Thor, Ann Skelly will play Nuala, Douglas Booth will play Cluracan, and Jack Gleeson will play Puck. These characters are significant in the 'The Sandman' graphic novels.

    Characters from 'Brief Lives'

    Indya Moore will join as Wanda, and Steve Coogan will voice Barnabas the dog. These characters come from the 'Brief Lives' storyline. The new additions enhance the storyline and bring more depth to the series.

    Returning Characters and Season 1 Recap

    The first season of 'The Sandman' follows Dream, also known as Sandman, who is captured and held prisoner for over a century. He must travel through different worlds and timelines to fix the chaos caused by his absence. Tom Sturridge plays Dream.

    In May, Netflix announced new cast members for Season 2. Esmé Creed-Miles will play Delirium, Adrian Lester will play Destiny, and Barry Sloane will play 'The Prodigal.' These characters are members of 'The Endless' family, which includes Death, Desire, Despair, and Dream.

    Returning cast members for Season 2 include Patton Oswalt as Matthew the Raven, Vivienne Acheampong as Lucienne, Gwendoline Christie as Lucifer Morningstar, Jenna Coleman as Johanna Constantine, Ferdinand Kingsley as Hob Gadling, Stephen Fry as Gilbert, Asim Chaudhry as Abel, Sanjeev Bhaskar as Cain, Vanesu Samunyai as Rose Walker, and Razane Jammal as Lyta Hall.

    'The Sandman' is developed by Neil Gaiman, Allan Heinberg, and David S. Goyer. It is based on the DC comics by Gaiman, Sam Keith, and Mike Dringenberg. Jamie Childs will direct all episodes of Season 2. The series is produced by Warner Bros. Television, which owns the DC rights.
