    Heavy Rain Across India:

Heavy rains swept across multiple regions of India, including Maharashtra, on Sunday, disrupting daily life as the monsoon progressed towards northern states. Incidents related to the rains, such as lightning strikes and drownings, led to several fatalities nationwide.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Maharashtra, Bihar, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Arunachal Pradesh experienced substantial downpours.

The Met department forecasts continued heavy rainfall in Gujarat over the next four days, with isolated heavy showers expected in south and central Gujarat as well as the Saurashtra region over the next two days.

In Maharashtra, a woman and a 13-year-old girl drowned in the backwater of Bhushi Dam near Pune's Lonavala area, with three children aged between 4 to 6 years reported missing.

The IMD expects heavy to very heavy rainfall in northwest and northeast India over the next four to five days, with the southwest monsoon advancing into more parts of Uttar Pradesh and possibly other regions in the coming days.
