India News Live Updates: Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis tweeted, "The news is very sad that six people died in an explosion at Chamunda Explosive Company in the Hingana MIDC area of Nagpur. Three people are critical in this incident and they have been admitted to Dande Hospital for treatment. I am in touch with the district administration and police commissioner and all the necessary help is being provided by the district administration. The Commissioner of Police has visited the spot as well as the hospital. I offer heartfelt tributes to the deceased. prays for the speedy recovery of the injured. The families of the deceased will be given financial assistance from the Chief Minister's Assistance Fund"

Four people who went to extinguish the fire in Binsar forest died, while four people were seriously injured. The injured were brought to the base hospital, where they are being treated. Six dead in an explosion at Chamunda Explosive Company in Nagpur
Six workers including five women were killed and three injured in a blast at an explosives manufacturing factory near Nagpur city on Thursday afternoon, police said. The incident took place around 1 pm at Chamundi Explosive Pvt Ltd at Dhamna village under Hingna police station limits, around 25 km from here. A total of nine injured persons were brought to two private hospitals in the city, said Nagpur police commissioner Ravindra Singhal. Of them, five women and a man died during treatment, he told mediapersons. Most of the victims were working in the factory's packaging unit when the explosion took place, another police official said. Further probe was on, he added.

Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu to assume office today
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is set to assume office on Thursday. According to an official release, Naidu will assume charge at around 4.41 pm in the State Secretariat in Amaravati and would sign five files that include the mega DSC notification, the revocation of the Land Titling Act and increasing the social pension to the beneficiaries to Rs 4,000 per month.

Portion of building collapses in Maharashtra's Thane; three injured, 30 rescued
Three persons were injured, while over 30 were rescued after portion of a residential building in the Kalwar area of Maharashtra's Thane collapsed on Wednesday night, officials said.According to officials, the incident took place at the Om Krishna Co-operative Housing Society.Upon receiving information about the incident, fire brigade personnel reached the spot and rescued the people.The injured people were admitted to a hospital for treatment. The exact reason behind the collapse incident was not clear.Further details are awaited.

The proposal was passed and today at 6:30 am, I along with my MLAs and Puri MP (Sambit Patra) attended the 'Mangala aarti'... For the development of the Jagannath Temple and for other works, we have proposed a fund in the cabinet. When we present the next state budget, we will allot a corpus fund of Rs 5 crores for the temple management."

Chandrababu Naidu to assume charge as Andhra Pradesh CM today
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will assume charge of his office at 4.41 PM on Thursday at the state secretariat here, TDP sources said. Naidu was sworn in as chief minister with grandeur, in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several dignitaries this morning. Naidu will be signing files pertaining to poll promises and, as part of that, he will sign a file for teachers' recruitment tomorrow, He will also sign a file "abolishing " the Land Titling Act" that the previous YSR Congress government tried to implement, the sources said. Furthermore, Naidu will also sign a file paving the way for enhancing social pension for beneficiaries to Rs 4,000 per month from the existing Rs 3000. He will also clear files pertaining to undertaking skill census in the state and setting up 'Anna canteens', they said.
SC to hear pleas challenging NEET-UG, 2024 results today
The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear on Thursday as many as three petitions, including the one filed by chief executive of EdTech firm 'Physics Wallah', pertaining to the controversy-ridden NEET-UG, 2024 for admission to MBBS, BDS and others courses. As per the apex court's updated list of business, a vacation bench comprising Justices Vikram Nath and Sandeep Mehta will take up the petitions raising grievances related to the conduct of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET-UG), 2024.Alakh Pandey, the chief executive of the EdTech firm, has moved the top court against alleged random award of grace marks by the National Testing Agency (NTA)to over 1,500 candidates.The top court has also listed for hearing the two pleas filed by Abdullah Mohammed Faiz and Jaripiti Kartheek separately.Pandey has urged the top court to set up an expert panel under its supervision to "enquire into the examination process and results of NEET (UG) 2024."
Mamata to chair industry meet at Bengal secretariat on Thursday
