As the police and officials from the I-T department, ED, CBDT and various other agencies swoop down on illegal cash and gold across the country, here's a live register of the haul:

    December 16
    Nellore: Police seized Rs 1.54 crore in 2000 notes after info of a real estate deal taking place in a hotel.

    Washim: Police seized unaccounted cash worth Rs 41 lakh in Rs 2000 & Rs 100 notes from Karanja. IT Dept has been informed.

    December 15
    Dehradun: Police seized Rs 7,39,000 in new currency and Rs 28,000 in demonetised currency from 4 people involved in money exchange racket on commission basis.

    Guwahati
    : Police in Assam has seized Rs 29.58 lakhs of currency notes, of which 27 lakhs is in new currency notes of 2000 and 500 denomination. Police has registered two separate cases of money laundering in two different police stations in Guwahati and has arrested five persons.

    Dharwad: Police seized Rs 26,20,000 (Rs 23,20,000 in 2000 notes) and arrested 3 persons illgeally transporting money from Hubli to Gadag.

    Delhi: Income Tax Dept conducted raid at Sunar Jewellers in Karol Bagh, seized Rs 30 lakhs, including new currency notes.

    Thane: Police seized Rs 21 lakh in Kalyan's Khadakpada area, of which Rs 16 lakh was in new Rs 2000 & 500 notes.

    Guwahati: Rs 5.58 lakhs in new currency seized from father-son duo by Police. Both arrested, probe underway.

    Noida: Income Tax Dep raided Axis bank branch in Noida sec 51, finds accounts of 20 fake companies, over Rs 60 cr deposited in the accounts.

    Jaipur: Rs 35 lakh in new notes seized from 2 Jaipur businessmen while exchanging old notes.

    December 14
    Pune:
    I-T officials seized around Rs 10 crore from the lockers of Parvati branch of bank of Maharashtra. Authorities are probing the involvement of bank officials in the illegal stashing of black money and the owners of the lockers are being tracked.

    Siliguri: Siliguri Metropolitan Police seized Rs 2.54 lakhs in Rs 2000 notes and arrested five persons in a raid.

    Bengaluru: Tax officials seized Rs 2.25 crore cash from an old woman's flat which was guarded by two ferocious dogs. She set the dogs on the officials when they tried to enter.

    Delhi: Delhi police and tax officials seized from a city hotel Rs 3.25 crore carefully packed in suitcases and cardboard box by packaging experts who used tapes and wires to escape the airport scanning machines.

    Pune: Police arrested four people in Wakad with Rs 67 lakh in cash.

    Chandigarh: ED officials seized Rs 2.18 crore, of which Rs 17.74 lakh were in new currency and Rs 52 lakh in Rs 100 notes.

    Panaji: I-T sleuths seized Rs 68 lakh in new currency notes from a person, posing as customers in desperate need of cash.

    Vadodara: The police seized from a businessman’s house Rs 19.67 lakh cash hidden in a gunny bag inside a cupboard.

    Patna: RPF officials seized Rs 1 crore from a Gujarat-bound train. They claim the cash was likely to be used by a Gujarat-based industrial house to pay long-pending salaries to its staff.

    Goa: The police arrested three people with Rs 24 lakh in new currency notes at Calangute.

    Delhi: The police seized Rs 1.35 lakh currency in old notes from four passengers who had arrived from Kabul at Delhi airport.

    Hyderabad: The police seized Rs 52 lakh in new notes from a gang of 10 dacoits.

    Ulhasnagar: Thane Police recovered Rs 9.76 lakh in new notes from three people who were going to exchange new Rs 2,000 notes for the defunct notes at a 20 per cent premium.

    Bengaluru/Hyderabad: CBI registered eight cases involving bank and post office officials and seized Rs 17.36 crore in old and new notes.

    Balaghat: The police seized Rs 15.40 lakh, in old and new notes, from two grocers who were exchanging old notes with new at a 15 per cent premium.

    Gurgaon: Gurugram Police seized Rs 40 lakhs from 2 vans (Rs 24,55,500 in new notes) at Gurugram-Faridabad toll. IT informed and enquiry is underway.

    December 12
    Delhi: In a third raid on a Delhi-based lawyer, I-T sleuths seized Rs 13.48 crore in old and new notes. The department has recovered Rs 125 crore and Rs 19 crore in first two raids.

    December 11:
    Challakere:
    The I-T officials seized Rs 5.7 crore in new Rs 2,000 notes and Rs 90 lakh in old notes hidden in a secret safe behind the bathroom tiles. A stainless steel safe was hidden above the wash basin and inside the tiled wall.

    Vidyaranypuram: The police seized Rs 22,26,000 in new notes which were being transported to Mysuru.

    December 10:
    Delhi:
    The police seized Rs 8 crore in old and new notes in raids on a law firm in the posh Greater Kailash locality.

    Bhilwara: I-T officials seized Rs 7.2 lakh in new Rs 2,000 currency notes.

    Ahmedabad: The police seized Rs 39.8 lakh from two different towns in Gujarat which were being taken to exchange with old notes at a premium.

    December 9
    Vellore: I-T officials seized Rs 96.89 crore in old notes and Rs 9.63 crore in new ones during search operations across the state. The officials seized Rs 24 crore in cash from Vellore alone.

    December 8
    Chennai: I-T officials busted a currency exchange racket and seized Rs 90 crore, of which Rs 70 crore were in new notes, after a tip-off about note exchange.

    December 7
    Goa: CBI and the local police seized Rs 1.75 crore in new notes during raids at different places.

    December 6
    West Bengal:
    STF arrested former BJP leader Mahesh Sharma with Rs 33 lakh in new Rs 2,000 notes while he was travelling in a car with six others.

    December 5
    The Finance Ministry said the tax department had detected a Jan Dhan account in which Rs 1.64 crore were deposited by persons who had never filed returns, their income being below the taxable limit.

    Sambalpur:
    The police seized Rs 1,42,91,500 which were brought to the city to exchange with old notes.

    December 3
    Ahmedabad:
    I-T sleuths raided the premises of a transporter and seized Rs 27 lakh in old and new notes hidden in two cartons.

    Karnataka/Tamil Nadu:
    I-T officials and the police seized Rs 6 crore in old and new notes during raids in Bengaluru, Chennai and Erode.

    November 26
    Mumbai:
    Air Intelligence Unit seized gold worth Rs 2 crore and Rs 7.5 lakh in cash at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport.

    November 18
    Maharashtra: The police seized Rs 91 lakh from BJP leader Subhash Deshmukh's vehicle. However, the leader said the money was legal and he was willing to face any investigation.
