Synopsis

Govt & insurers have figured out a way to fix Ayushman Bharat that doesn’t damage insurers’ financial health.

It’s official. September 25, 2018, will witness the rollout of one of the most ambitious universal-healthcare schemes in the world, Ayushman Bharat. When fully operational, the scheme will cover 100 million families (500 million beneficiaries) with an insurance of up to INR5 lakh per family, irrespective of the family size. In one sweep, around 40% of India's population will come under insurance coverage.A council will be set up at the apex
