    Adani-owned Ambuja Cements to acquire majority stake in Sanghi Industries: Sources

    Adani is India's second largest cement producer, behind UltraTech Cement. It owns Ambuja and its subsidiary ACC Ltd, which have a capacity to produce more than 65 million tonnes with more than a dozen manufacturing plants across India. Sanghi is one of the leading cement manufacturers from Gujarat state in western India. It has a production capacity of 6.1 million metric tonnes per annum, its website says.

    Authorities in New Delhi have told Pernod Ricard that the company did not meet the requirements for a licence, according to a court filing seen by Reuters. Pernod, whose brands include Absolut vodka and Chivas Regal, has not been able to sell its products in Delhi for six months after its licence was rejected due to an investigation into allegations the company had illegally obtained profits and supported retailers financially. The company asked a judge to grant it a licence in May, saying there was no proof of wrongdoing.
