    GX Group to make telecom gear in India for the world

    GX Group plans to establish a new Rs 100-crore manufacturing facility in India to export FTTH equipment globally, supporting the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative. This will be their second plant, following a 2021 Haryana unit. The new facility will produce Wi-Fi routers and GPON equipment for Indian and international markets, including Europe and Africa.

    HFCL Ltd bags order worth Rs 67 cr for supplying OFCs

    HFCL Limited has procured a Rs 67 crore order for Optical Fiber Cables (OFC) from a leading domestic telecom service provider in India. The order, to be executed by April 2024, requires HFCL to supply multiple types of cables as per customer specifications. The demand for OFCs is growing due to India's digitization drive and the recent Cabinet approval for rural broadband connectivity.

    Cabinet approves Rs 1.39 lakh cr for last mile BharatNet connectivity

    The cabinet has approved a last-mile broadband connectivity plan under the BharatNet project for 6.4 lakh villages across the country with a financial outlay of Rs 1.39 lakh crore, a top government official said. The broadband connectivity project has already connected 1.94 lakh villages, with the rest likely to be completed in two and a half years.

    The Union Cabinet has approved a last-mile broadband connectivity plan for 6.4 lakh villages across the country under the BharatNet project with an outlay of Rs 1.39 lakh crore, according to sources. Around 1.94 lakh villages have been connected under the BharatNet project at present, and the balance is likely to be connected in two and a half years, they added.

    TRAI plans to repeal regulation on dial-up, seeks views

    Industry stakeholders have until April 17 to present their views on the matter. “It has been noticed that these regulations were issued when the dial up service was the only service available for accessing low speed internet,” Trai said in a statement.
