BSNL to monetize prime land parcels in Mangalore; eyes Rs 39 crores reserve price
Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has announced the monetization of its land parcels in Mangalore in an effort to bolster its financial standing. The two-acre land parcel adjacent to Kadri Park at Store Yard, near Kadri Hills on Park Road, is set for e-auction. The reserve price is set at Rs 39 Crores with an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of Rs 1.95 Crores.

Hackers breach BSNL again, second time in six months
This is the second time in six month where BSNL has suffered a data breach. Athenian Tech chief executive Kanishk Gaur told ET, the breach involved more than 278 GB of data from the state-owned telecom operation, including server snapshots, which can be misused for SIM cloning and potentially more severe criminal activities like extortion.
GX Group to make telecom gear in India for the world

DoT reassures telcos over data shift to Amazon Web Services
The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) faced backlash from mobile phone companies over plans to migrate its digital intelligence platform (DIP) to Amazon Web Services (AWS) from servers run by BSNL and C-DoT. The move was criticized for compromising consumer privacy. However, DoT clarified that critical subscriber database records won't be stored on AWS, easing concerns. The DIP is crucial for fighting cybercrimes and fraud, facilitating real-time intelligence sharing among stakeholders. The shift aims to address data surge challenges, with AWS being an approved vendor of MeitY, hosting CoWIN data.
TCS setting up four large BSNL data centres in Rs 15,000 crore 4G deal

The company will provide products and services crucial for supporting BSNL's 4G and 5G network requirements, including planning, surveys, installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of microwave links.
Centre likely to achieve ₹1.2 lakh crore revenue target from telecom sector
The government is expected to achieve its revenue target of ₹1.2 lakh crore from the telecom sector in the next financial year, even without a major spectrum auction. The increasing financial health of the telecom sector, resulting in higher licence fees and spectrum charges, along with significant payments from state-run Bharat Sanchar Nigam (BSNL) for its 5G spectrum, is anticipated to contribute to the revenue goal. Tejas bags ₹7,492 crore BSNL contract
In a regulatory filing Wednesday, Tejas said it has executed a master contract for supply, support and annual maintenance services of its telecom equipment for BSNL's pan-India 4G/5G network with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). "As a part of this contract, the company received a purchase order from TCS for ₹7,492 crore (approx. $900 million) to supply its latest 4G/5G RAN equipment for approximately 100,000 sites," the Bengaluru-based gear maker said in the filing. The contract will be executed during the calendar years 2023 and 2024.
India exported telecom gear worth Rs 6,911 crore till May 31: Minister Chauhan
Telecom equipment worth Rs 6,911 crore has been exported by companies selected under the PLI scheme till May 31, 2023. The PLI scheme was launched on February 24, 2021, to promote domestic manufacturing of specified telecom and networking products including 4G, 5G products, and also design-led manufacturing in the country.
BSNL, private telcos object to Trai's LSA-level audits
Indian telecom operators have rejected the proposed licensed service area (LSA)-level audit requirements proposed by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) as it would result in duplication of work and wastage of resources. Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, and Vodafone Idea have asked Trai to adopt a sample LSA and conduct audits within that umbrella. The draft Quality of Service regulations proposed by Trai mandates that all telcos get their metering and billing systems audited by an auditor once every financial year, alongside outlining punitive action in case of non-compliance.

HFCL to partner private telcos, BSNL to deploy 5G services
Telecom equipment provider HFCL will partner with private telcos and state-run Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) to deploy its 5G private network solutions over the coming year, a senior executive said. The telecom-tech company has started presenting proof of concepts to deploy multiple private 5G use cases across manufacturing, warehousing, mining and healthcare.
Government may delist MTNL to merge with BSNL
“Since MTNL is a listed company, the process takes time. The transaction advisor will have to go through the process related to the merger and then they will come back,” Rajaraman was quoted as saying, adding that the government will also consult SEBI (Securities and Exchange Board of India) as well later.
BSNL to test local 4G technology on live network
