    Six-storey residential building collapses in Surat city; rescue operations on

    A six-storey residential building collapsed in Pal area of Surat city, trapping at least four to five people under the rubble. A woman has been rescued alive. Search and rescue operation are ongoing with NDRF and SDRF assistance. Officials including Surat district collector Sourabh Pardhi and Police Commissioner Anupam Singh Gehlot confirmed the incident.

    Bodies of all Hathras stampede victims identified, handed over to kin

    District Magistrate Asish Kumar confirmed on Thursday that all 121 victims of the Hathras stampede, primarily women, have been identified and their bodies handed over to their families. The tragic incident occurred during self-styled godman Baba Bhole's satsang in Hathras, where the crowd surpassed 2.5 lakh despite a permitted limit of 80,000 people.

    In Bihar's Saran district, a 26-year-old woman, reportedly a medical practitioner, cut off her 30-year-old boyfriend's genitals and flushed them down the toilet after he repeatedly refused to marry her. The couple had been in a relationship for five years. The woman, now arrested, claims the man exploited her under the pretext of marriage.

    Hathras stampede: 4-time rise in autopsies in neighbouring Etah, asphyxia caused most deaths

    Asphyxia due to compression was the leading cause of death among victims of the Hathras stampede, which occurred in Hathras' Phulrai village. As many as 27 bodies were brought to the district hospital in Etah, with the overall toll standing at 121. The hospital performed four times the usual number of autopsies in a day, with the majority of the victims being women in the 40-50 age group.

    Two more children have died in a suspected food poisoning incident at Indore's Shri Yugpurush Dham Baudhik Vikas Kendra, raising the death toll to five. The number of children undergoing treatment for symptoms has also increased to 38, with four in critical condition. All the children are undergoing treatment at Government Chacha Nehru Hospital, with four admitted to the Intensive Care Unit ward.
