      State-owned REC Ltd on Tuesday posted about a 13.5 per cent rise in its consolidated net profit to Rs 3,308.42 crore for the December 2023 quarter, mainly on the back of higher revenues.

      India climbed 18 spots up to 14th rank in the global house price index in the third quarter of 2023, data compiled by real estate consultant Knight Frank India showed. House prices remained robust in the face of higher debt costs, with average prices across the 56 markets covered by the Knight Frank's Global House Price Index, growing at an average of 3.5 per cent on a yearly basis in September 2023, up from 2.2 per cent in the previous quarter.

      In the September 2023 quarter, JK Lakshmi Cement's revenue grew by 12% year-on-year to Rs1,452 crore. Its sales volume grew by 10%, which was similar to the 11% volume growth at the sector level. The operating profit before depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) grew by 17% to Rs705 per tonne. Net profit grew by 41% to Rs83 crore.

      Domestic subscription revenue increased by 5.34% to Rs 418.23 crore, increasing operating revenue by 28% to Rs 1,017.98 crore. Total revenue for the quarter increased by 27.48% to Rs 1,125.08 crore. Sun TV Network has TV channels in six languages, an OTT platform called Sun NXT, and FM radio stations all over India.

      Apollo Hospitals to invest Rs 3435 crore on capacity expansion, posts Rs 233 cr net profit in Q2

      As part of the expansion plan, the company announced a 250-bed new hospital in Pune expandable to 425 beds in 2 years at an overall cost of Rs 675 crores. The hospital is expected to be commissioned by Q1 FY25. With this expansion, Apollo will have over 1000 beds in Maharashtra including Mumbai, Pune and Nashik.

The company’s growth was driven by the increase in infrastructure projects rolled out by the government during a pre-election year.
