    Mallikarjun Kharge raises NEET, Manipur, Agniveer in Rajya Sabha

      Bill in Lok Sabha to check paper leaks, use of unfair means in govt recruitment exams

      The Centre introduces Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Bill, 2024, to check malpractices in government recruitment exams. Offences include leakage of question paper, assisting candidates, tampering with computer systems, creating fake websites, and manipulating seating arrangements. The bill imposes a minimum jail term of three years and a fine up to Rs 1 crore. Service providers engaged in conducting examinations can also be fined and barred from future responsibilities.

      Assam: Examination Bill tabled in Assembly

      According to the bill tabled in assembly on Monday, the Assam Public Examination (Measures for Prevention of unfair Means in Recruitment) Bill, 2024 is proposed to provide effective measures to prevent and curb the offences of leakage of question papers and use of unfair means at public examinations for the purpose of recruitment to any post under the State Government including autonomous bodies, authorities, boards or corporations, and to provide for Special Courts for the trial of such offences and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.
