    A day after targeted killing, Kashmiri Pandits seek removal of Lt Governor

    The Kashmiri Pandit Sangharsh Samiti (KPSS) on Monday requested the prime minister and home minister to replace J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha as he has failed to stop the targeted killing of Pandits and to launch operations against the militants and their supporters.

    "Sanjay Sharmaji was on his way to the market along with his wife, when unidentified gunmen attacked him...we are sifting the information and the terrorists will soon be tracked and neutralised. Investigation is going on and we will foil their devious plans," said Rayees Ahmad Bhat, Deputy Inspector General of J&K Police.

    Kashmiri Pandits have alleged that the J&K administration and the Centre have failed to ensure the community's safety. Scores of families have already left the Valley. The Kashmiri Pandit Sangharsh Samiti - an organisation of Kashmiri Pandits who stayed back in the Valley even after the exodus in the late 1980s - has sought intervention of the high court.
