    Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh announced the same on X, “The state Cabinet approved to increase the allowance for our brave Manipur Police Commando and other state forces in vulnerable areas. Effective immediately, the allowance for Manipur Police Commando will be increased by Rs 5,000, while the state forces in vulnerable areas will receive an increment of Rs 3,000.”

    The Zomi Council Steering Committee (ZCSC) submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister highlighting the plight of the Zo people - the Hmars, the Kuki-Zos and the nine Zomi tribes - who continue to bear the brunt of Meitei radicals. The memorandum described how the Arambai Tenggol, a Meitei militia group, have influenced Meitei MLAs and MPs to take an Oath favoring their desires.
