    ​​Under the bill, the offences related to the conduct of competitive examinations shall be cognisable, non-bailable and non-compoundable. According to the bill, those found indulging in unfair means and offences in the conduct of competitive examinations shall be punished with imprisonment for a term not less than three years, which may be extended to five years and with a fine of up to Rs 10 lakh.

    Over 50 successful NEET-UG candidates move SC for direction against any move to cancel exam

    Over 50 Gujarat-based NEET-UG candidates have filed a fresh plea with the Supreme Court, requesting a direction to prevent the Centre and the National Testing Agency from cancelling the controversial exam. The plea also seeks a direction to the Union Education Ministry to investigate and take strict action against students who engaged in unfair practices such as paper leaks and impersonation.

    NEET-UG row: SC to hear batch of pleas on July 8

    The Supreme Court is set to hear on July 8 a series of petitions concerning the NEET-UG examination, which took place on May 5 amidst allegations of irregularities including paper leaks. The petitions, totaling 26, seek various reliefs such as holding the exam afresh due to alleged malpractices. The exam, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), saw participation from around 24 lakh candidates across 4,750 centers.
