TDP has emerged the second-largest party in the NDA with 16 LS seats and cornered 134 of 175 assembly seats in Andhra Pradesh. Result: BJP needs Naidu’s support at the Centre, but he does not need them in the state. He is a kingmaker now.

    All-party meet: TDP raises issue of Naidu's arrest amid protest by YSR Congress

    The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) plans to raise the issue of its leader's arrest by the Andhra Pradesh Police in Parliament. TDP MP Ram Mohan Naidu stated that they will also seek measures to fast-track criminal cases involving politicians. The YSR Congress, in power in the state, objected to these claims and maintained that the law has taken its course in the corruption case. Naidu's arrest is related to an alleged multi-crore corruption scam involving misappropriation of funds.

    Telugu Desam Party (TDP) national general secretary Nara Lokesh has stated that the party remains neutral and stands for the rights of the Telugu people, distancing itself from both the ruling BJP and the opposition alliance. Lokesh is in Delhi to seek support for his father, former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who was arrested in a Skill Development scam. Despite the support from other opposition leaders, TDP has maintained a cautious stance and has not reached out to any BJP leaders for assistance.

    Lokesh said his party will take up the issue of the “wrongful arrest” in Parliament. The CID had arrested Naidu in an alleged Skill Development scam, which dates back to his tenure as chief minister of Andhra Pradesh. The state government under Naidu had started a programme with Siemens and Designtech to train employable youth in tech skills. Lokesh says the project was already being implemented in six other states.

    Madhya Pradesh: Boy rescued from borewell after 24 hours, doctors declare him dead

    Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced an assistance of Rs 4 lakh to the kin of the boy, the collector said. The child was rushed to the government hospital in Lateri town, about 14 km from the district headquarters following his rescue nearly 24 hours after he fell into the borewell, sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) Harshal Choudhary said.
