    On Vijay Diwas, commemorations across India honored the 1971 war victory. At the National War Memorial, top defense officials paid respects. In Jammu, Major Gen Gaurav Gautam honored fallen soldiers, praising their sacrifices. Lt Gen RP Kalita laid a wreath at Vijay Smarak in Kolkata. This day marks Pakistan's surrender in 1971, a pivotal moment leading to Bangladesh's creation. India's victory shattered Pakistan's two-nation theory. Vijay Diwas stands as a tribute to India's historic triumph, marking sacrifices of over 3,900 soldiers and 9,851 injuries in the 1971 Battle.
