    Rafale’s India operations get a strategic push; Dassault establishes maintenance facility near Jewar Airport

This move supports India's aspiration to locally manufacture the latest Rafale versions under the "Make in India" initiative. Engine maker Safran SA also intends to set up an MRO facility for Rafale engines in Hyderabad, aiming for operations by 2025 and potential local production of M-88 engines. These developments are crucial as India seeks to bolster its defense capabilities amidst regional security challenges, including from China's expanding military presence.

    Mumbai's first underground metro to launch in July; All you need know about it

    Mumbai's first underground metro line, launching in July, will span 33.5 km and include 27 stations, primarily underground. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) will manage operations. The metro will operate from 6:30 am to 11:00 pm, with trains every few minutes, reaching speeds of 90 km per hour. This project, covering a total of 56 km, aims to significantly reduce the city's traffic congestion. The second phase is anticipated to complete within eight months.

    RITES shares rally 4% on signing MoU with DMRC

    Mumbai Metro Line 3 Phase I operations on the Aarey to Bandra-Kurla Complex route are set to begin in July. The Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL) expects to start phase I operations of Mumbai Metro Line 3 on this route by then. Necessary dry runs have been completed, with some assessments and approvals pending. The Metro agency is ready to operate over 260 services with its fleet of 19 trains.

    NCRTC investigation finds lapses by operational staff

    An NCRTC probe into a recent derailment on the regional rapid rail project found operational staff lapses. The incident occurred at Duhai depot in Uttar Pradesh, with the high-level committee attributing it to an operational lapse. The committee recommended penal action and refresher courses for staff. The project, aimed at reducing travel time between Delhi and Meerut to less than an hour, involves German rail operator Deutsche Bahn and Alstom.
