    Pro Kabaddi League player auction: Pawan Sehrawat of Telugu Titans gets top bid of Rs 2.6 crore

    ​The most expensive foreign player ever was Mohammadreza Shadloui Chiyaneh, who was purchased by Puneri Paltan for ₹2.35 crore. Each franchise had a salary purse of ₹5 crore, which was increased after three seasons from ₹4.4 crore. Three players received bids of more than ₹2 crore in the auction.

    The two-day auction began on Monday with 12 teams bidding for players, both Indian and overseas, from categories A and B. The auctions for categories C and D will take place on Tuesday. A total of 137 matches will be played in the 10th edition of PKL. As many as 132 league stage matches will be followed by the playoff comprising five matches - two eliminators, two semifinals and the final.

    All-rounder Mohammadreza Shadloui Chiyaneh (base price Rs 10 lakh), was sold to the 'Patna Pirates' for Rs 31 lakh, while the 'Bengal Warriors' bought defender Abozar Mohajermighani, bidding for him at Rs 30.5 lakh from the base price of Rs 20 lakh.
